This calculator uses the Devine formula (1974), one of the most commonly cited ideal weight formulas. For men: Ideal Weight = 50 + 2.3 × (height in inches − 60). For women: Ideal Weight = 45.5 + 2.3 × (height in inches − 60). A ±10% range is shown to account for individual variation in frame size and body composition. No single formula captures all factors, so use this as a starting reference.
A 175 cm (68.9 inches) male: Ideal Weight = 50 + 2.3 × 8.9 = 70.5 kg, with a range of 63.4 to 77.5 kg. A 165 cm (65 inches) female: Ideal Weight = 45.5 + 2.3 × 5 = 57.0 kg, with a range of 51.3 to 62.7 kg.
